Ferreira
de Pallares´s Monastery dominates one of the most beautiful rural areas
in Lugo. The sanctuary is located in council of Guntín and this formed
by the Romanesque church, claustro and the environs like the rectoral house
or the same source with an anthropomorphous tomb. This set is basically Romanesque,
even though it has some Gothic and neoclassic elements in the tower. In his
origins it was Abbey but in century XVI it is gotten up to the Monastery of
Samos, having happened to be Priorato. The monastery had its own old blacksmith
factory in river Ferreira, in activity after the spanish confiscation of religious
buildings. But late it was mallet and later mill. The rectoral house is in the
Monastery, that all the day is open.
Buried for more than 1,000 years, Santa
Eulalia de Boveda is one of the historical mystery of Lugo. Built possibly
between centuries III and IV, lodge in its interior a more important painting
set murals of the Roman Hispania. To enter and to contemplate its Wall paintings
will transfer us to the mystery of its origin.
To 23 km to the northeast of Lugo, in the council of Castro de Rei is located a
key site to know the evolution of the world of the celtic village in the galaico-Roman
stage. The Castro de Viladonga is a magnificent archaeological deposit with
several walls, pits and the great Acropolis where they are most of the celtic
house. The numerous found rest are exposed in a Museum on the foot of the deposit,
worthy to visit so much by the great quality of the pieces as by the archaeological
importance of this castro.

Lugo's
Cathedral has the privilege of the continuous exhibition of the Holy Sacrament.
The Cathedral was started to be built in 1129 and the upper part dates from
the 15th century, the cloister from the 18th and the main façade from
the 18th with towers of the second half of the 19th. In this façade,
we can see stone images of St Froilán - the patron saint of the
city- and St Cápito. We should also mention the North Gate
from the 16th century. It has original arches at the entrance and Gothic frame
for the Romanesque door with the image of Christ and the book of the seven seals.
On the bottom the last supper is represented and there is an inscription that
says: The disciple of Lord makes his members have a rest and when he lies down
there are heavenly delights for supper. Before going inside, we see the head
and apse with original flying buttresses and the Old Tower, also called the
Clock Tower.
The
rest of the Spas partially are places setting by the building of the Bath Hotel of Lugo,
located in the left border of the Rio Miño to their passage by Lugo.
The Spas of Lugo have natural hot water and have a 43.8 temperature of ºC
in the source. These waters are medicinal of sulfurated-so'dicas type and bicarbonated.
The Bath of Lugo was declared Artistic Historical Monument in 1931. The Bath
Hotel is open all the year with the exception of the celebrations of Christmas
and the rest of the Spas can be visited simply contacting with the reception
of the Hotel for individual visits or contacting with the Direction for collective
visits.

The
Sala-Museo Portamiña is a building constructed at the beginning of century
-the old Municipal Slaughter house - and its structure meticulously has been
respected. Inner space is divided in three separated ships by two rows of arcs
of average point; the large windows drilled in the ceiling of the central ship
call the attention, that offers a very cosy zenithal illumination.
At the east present time building is dedicated to archaeological exhibitions
of the Roman Lugo.
