Terras do Miño: Patrimonio de la Humanidad

Constructed between the years 260 and 310 D.C., the Roman walls of Lugo are to be included on UNESCO's World Heritage List as of November, 2000. The entire circuit of but of 2000 meters survives intact and is the finest example of late Roman fortifications in western Europe.
The monument gives access to the old town through its ten doors, four of original.

Sumergidas durante las grandes crecidas, ofrecen cobijo a una notable flora y fauna acuática. Canales, charcas y laguanas interiores, plantas acuáticas, frondosos bosques de ribera -aliso, fresno, roble, abedul-, moluscos como el mejillón o perla de río -Margaritifera margaritifera L.- y especies animales como el corzo, ánade y garza real, convierten a las islas en santuarios de la naturaleza miñota.
