The designation of the Reserve of the Biosphere Terras do Miño (UNESCO, November, 2.002) supposes the highest international recognition to the conservation of the landscapes, habitats and species of the high river basin in the European Atlantic Region. This declaration, , recognized by "Man and Biosphere" international program (MaB), promoted by UNESCO, apart from protecting the best conserved places of the Natural Reserve, it also takes into account measures in order to enforce the sustainable development in the region.
With this recognition Terras do Miño is waiting for being admired, studied and, mainly, preserved. Only on this way, the future generations will have the enormous privilege of knowing an area privileged by the nature.
